Awareness will provoke Anger that will Fuel the fire for Change" - Axl's Mom
Thank you for finding us here, at the beginning of so many great things.
Axl Quincey, our inspiration, was 11 months old when he was diagnosed with an ependymoma brain tumor. Axl's tumor was not inherited. The tumor formed, by chance, from a single ependymal cell over producing.
What started as a way for friends, family and the community to rally and show their support for Axl, Team Ax has transitioned into something so much more.
The Team Ax Foundation was founded on the coattails of the Team Ax campaign in July 2020 with a mission to raise awareness and increase funding for pediatric cancer research.
Pediatric cancer research is extremely underfunded. Many treatment options for children are adult therapies from the 1960s!
Cancer can happen to any child, at any time, anywhere.
Axl is one of the many tiny warriors around the world battling for a chance at life.
We hope you Join Us in the fight to raise awareness and raise funding to help find a cure for Pediatric Cancers.
Your financial contribution will go directly to organizations furthering childhood cancer research.
A wonderful organization designed to accelerate discovery, the Children's Brain Tumor Network provides free and open access to find a cure for pediatric brain cancer.
Childhood brain tumors represent the leading cause of disease-related death in children, as those affected have had limited treatment options and often must endure toxic therapies, which have remained largely unchanged over the past 50 years. Although neurosurgical techniques continue to improve, surgery is often not curative or a viable option for many children.
Only 4% of the billions of dollars the government spends annually on cancer research is directed towards
treating Childhood Cancer?
